Welcome to the witch's labyrinth!

Many have entered. Few have succeeded in finding the witch. Will you last the evening?

Created for the Blocktoberfest Game Jam 2025 and based on a Atari's 1977 arcade game, Witch Hunt, we invite you to explore the abandoned grounds around the witch's mansion. While you make your way through the maze, collect the lost pages of the witch's spell book to clear the path along your way and piece together the secret of the witch's identity!

This game is best played with mouse and keyboard, since you can hover over the spells to learn more. (Although you can play with a gamepad.)

Each of the nine spells hidden throughout the grounds are based on Atari's original Witch Hunt. How many were you able to find?

• Spell Page: Warp Time
  • Grants access to pockets of time you never knew were available.
• Spell Page: Levitation
  • Cause target object to fly at your command.  (Note: I only tried this on a broomstick to get out of manual housework. Turns out, I got out of walking everywhere too!)
• Spell Page: Ethereal Sounds
  • Produces a hybrid of natural and unworldly sounds to emanate in an area of your choosing.
• Spell Page: Duplicate Self
  • This spell allows the user to create a simple duplicate of themselves.
• Spell Page: Bat Commander
  • Converts your voice to sonar so you can command & control any colonies of bats within three miles. 
• Spell Page: Transfigure Mammal
  • Changes a target’s body into that of a Raccoon or on rare occasions, a Bear. I don’t know why. I’ve tried for other things, but can’t so much get them to turn into a shrew or newt. Just raccoons and bears. Go figure.
• Spell Page: Command Spirit
  • Tether the aura of a restless spirit to do your bidding.
• Spell Page: Hysteria
  • Hide the true identity of a witch, even to yourself.
• Spell Page: Know Self
  • Reverse the effects of “Hysteria” on yourself and others in a 3 mile radius. Any witches in the area will know their true form and power.
